Digital editions project PARES - Gaston Paris, des archives aux réseaux in cooperation with the Center for Digital Editions (ZDE)
The labelling of named entities in historical texts is one of the central tasks of digital edition projects. Considerable effort is often made to clearly identify such entities – whether persons, places, works, events, or plants – and to enrich them with additional, context-related information (metadata). Projects face the challenge of meeting requirements for standardisation and unambiguous identification, while also adequately reflecting historical complexity and doing justice to their own research perspective. This workshop, organised as part of the binational PARES edition project, aims to discuss various strategies for the conception of indices, keyword tagging and the underlying (authority) databases used in digital edition projects.
Registration: The event is open to anyone interested in questions relating to named entities in digital editions. For organizational reasons, we kindly ask you to register by March 1 at the latest: Workshop and Lunch Registration.
