Arcipelago Ceresa: edizione digitale degli inediti, dispersi, postumi. Gender, plurilinguismo, transnazionalità

Alice Ceresa (1923–2001) was a Swiss writer, journalist, and translator who lived and worked in Italy from the 1950s onward. Her multilingual background and professional trajectory make her a transnational intellectual figure, while her literary writing is marked by an experimental style and close attention to central themes in feminist debate, such as the role of women and the education of daughters within the patriarchal family. The SNSF project Arcipelago Ceresa aims to recover, enhance and make accessible the writer’s archival heritage through a digital Open Access edition.

The corpus made available includes unpublished short stories, newspaper articles, essays and translations, as well as texts related to an unfinished trilogy of novels and to the Piccolo dizionario dell’inuguaglianza femminile, whose posthumous editions (nottetempo 2007 and 2020) are enriched by radio materials broadcast by RSI in the 1970s. The edition is accompanied by thematic studies on multilingualism and transnationality, as well as on the interconnections between formal experimentation, critique of gender conventions, and the deconstruction of narrative models in Ceresa’s unpublished work.

The digital edition allows users to study Ceresa’s texts through different approaches: viewing the facsimile, diplomatic transcription, and simple reading. Places, names and keywords are linked to authority databases and identified through unique identifiers, making them accessible as Linked Open Data. The edition’s data will be published as research data in FAIR repositories such as DaSCH.
